New Year, True Me
"New Year, True Me" is a 90-day challenge about getting back to who you really are.
- Participants pick the apps they want to spend less time on and set a daily limit for them.
- Once they reach the limit, Fonorma blocks those apps for the rest of the day.
- If they unblock them on their own too many times, they drop out of the challenge. They can still keep using Fonorma.
- Each evening, they answer a few questions about their sleep, food, exercise, and mood. The app turns the answers into charts, including one that breaks mood down into the four "happy hormones": dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins.
- People can join after January 1, too. Everyone finishes on March 31.
- There are no prizes or refunds for finishing.
The app is available in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines. It isn't available in the EU or the UK.
For creators: host a group
- You get a group under your name and your own invite code. Viewers who enter your code when they join become members of your group.
- Your group has its own page in the app, showing how many people have joined and how the group is doing as a whole.
- As the host, you can set the details of your group.
- Hosting is free, and the drop-out rule doesn't apply to hosts.
- I ask hosts for two mentions to their audience: one when the app launches (likely in December), and one just before January 1. I prepare the text and images.
- Hosts receive a $3 referral fee for each person who pays to join their group. It's paid once, in April 2027. I share the full terms by email before anyone agrees.
Hosts are invited one by one. If you're interested, email hello@fonorma.app with a link to your channel, newsletter, or community.
Your viewers' data
- The app has no advertising or analytics tools inside it.
- Hosts never see any participant's personal information. They see group totals only.
How to check a message is from me
- I only send email from hello@fonorma.app.
- I never send attachments, and I never ask you to download anything from a link.
- Invitations to try the app come from Apple, through TestFlight or the App Store.
- I'll never ask for your passwords or sign-in codes.
- If a message claims to be from Fonorma but doesn't match these points, please forward it to hello@fonorma.app.
